Projection Installation

Returning to Alys Beach for the second time, Shmody partnered with Peter Clark to produce a piece of projection art for Digital Graffiti 2023. Using a combination of filmed cymatics and AI, Ecotone explores the interplay between natural and artificial environments. Sound waves, passed through sand and water, were styled with AI to look like aerial photography of Florida’s shifting coastline. The resulting animation highlights the evolving tensions and synergies between man and nature: the merging of technological and organic worlds.

Ecotone was given an honorable mention in Alys Beach and, since its debut, has been shown at festivals in the US, Italy, and Poland.
